Sir Richard Branson's Green Undies

Sir Richard Branson's top 5 on sustainability

Richard Branson is a recent convert to climate change champion "with a phone call from Al Gore while I was in the bath".  Branson is an important advocate for climate change - and not just because he is one of the most recognised business leaders on the planet. His passion for driving worthwhile change along with his business strategy of partnering with other big business, makes his involvement in climate change and sustainability awareness is extremely important.

It will be very interesting to see where he takes his interest and in the meantime, here is what he has to say on the subject.

On conservation

"We need to learn that our actions today will dictate the type of world our children and grandchildren grow old in. It is our greatest responsibility"

On individuals coming together for the environment

"Of course an individual can make a huge difference but it is when those individuals come together with like-minded souls that they can change the world for ever and importantly for the better."

On big business

"Business as usual is wrecking our planet. The short-term focus on profit has driven most businesses to forget about their important long-term role in taking care of people and the planet. We must work hard to change all this."

On a society shift towards responsibility

"Now it should be about every single person taking responsibility to make a difference in everything they do, at work and in their personal lives."

On our greatest challenge

"Our next great challenge, a challenge for us all, is ensuring that we leave our planet in the best possible shape not just for our children but also our children's children"
